Feyenoord vs Heerenveen prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-09-15 14:30.
Feyenoord Rotterdam will kick off the fifth round of the 2023/24 Eredivisie in De Kuip on Saturday with an afternoon match against SC Heerenveen. It is somewhat a dress rehearsal for the Rotterdamers before the Champions League group stage chaos begins later this month. Manager Arne Slot will be hoping that his team has not lost the form from their last two matches prior to the international break. After two draws, Feyenoord won twice very convincingly with score lines of 6-1 (home) and 5-1 (away).
The national champions had scored a total of three more goals than any other team in the competition going into the international break. The team’s immense productivity is in part due to striker Santiago Giménez, who already has five Eredivisie goals to his name. Thank goodness Arne Slot isn’t relying on record purchase Ayase Ueda, who has ongoing issues with a muscle injury.
In recent years, Feyenoord has had little to fear from Heerenveen on home turf. Only one of their last 15 hostings of the Frisians were lost and they scored at least three times in four of the last five editions. Heerenveen’s start to the season went much the same but the other way around: their first two matches were won, but followed up by two failures.
In Friesland the side has been completely under the spell of Osame Sahraoui. The Norwegian sensation has already made his mark with his dribbling and goal creating actions, but has only increased his productivity since. Sahraoui was involved in a goal in each of his first four Eredivisie matches and was rewarded with his first playing minutes for the Norwegian national team. Wide attacking colleague Patrik Walemark, who is on loan from Feyenoord, is not yet fit enough to take to the pitch this weekend, whilst former Feyenoord player and current Heerenveen captain Sven van Beek will return.
Players to watch: Calvin Stengs has been involved in four goals in his last two matches (G1, A3), whilst Heerenveen's vice-captain Paweł Bochniewicz has already scored twice this season with a header.
Hot stat: Heerenveen lost only four of their last 12 Eredivisie games as a travelling outsider (W3, D5).
