Getafe Osasuna prediction 2023-09-17

Getafe vs Osasuna prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-16 12:00.
Getafe have already demonstrated some of their best and worst in just four rounds of the 2023/24 La Liga (LL) season, and with all four of their league points for this season being collected at home, there’s no place like home to resume after the international window. The chatter about Getafe during the break was almost entirely about when loanee Mason Greenwood will get his first minutes in their famous blue colours, following his unveiling in front of an estimated 4,000 fans after a training session.

Those loyal home fans are yet to see a goal from open play, with Borja Mayoral’s late penalty decisive in their previous LL home fixture – a 1-0 triumph against newly promoted Alavés. Indeed, their last LL goal at home not from the penalty spot came in May’s 2-1 win at home to upcoming opponents Osasuna, maintaining their unbeaten H2H record since the latter returned to LL in 2019/20 (W4, D4).

Osasuna went into the international break having lost both home games but winning both on the road in LL competition, an unusual position given they are already halfway to their haul of just four away wins (D7, L8) from the previous LL campaign. The week off gave manager Jagoba Arrasate plenty of time to move on from the heartbreaking 2-1 loss at home to Barcelona, following which he accused striker Robert Lewandowski of going down softly to earn his match-winning penalty.

The players may have benefited even more from the brief pause in competition after Arrasate rotated his way through 22 players to help manage the workload of their unsuccessful push for UEFA Europa Conference League qualification. On the basis of having already secured two surprise away wins this season, anything appears possible when these top-half hopefuls meet.

Players to watch: Mayoral has an excellent success rate when scoring at home in recent rounds, with five of his last six LL home goals coming in victory. As well as Osasuna’s only goal against Barcelona, Chimy Ávila was on the scoresheet when these clubs met in May.

Hot stat: Just three of the last 17 H2Hs produced more than 2.5 total goals (average: 1.35), whilst no match involving either club this LL season saw more than three.
