Everton Arsenal prediction 2023-09-17

Everton vs Arsenal prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-09-16 15:30.
One week after he became one of a record-breaking four English top-flight managers to all lose their first three games of a new Premier League (PL) season, Everton head coach Sean Dyche assumed favouritism as the first PL boss to be sacked when his side failed to defeat newly promoted Sheffield United away from home (2-2). It’s hardly the place any club wants to be in when preparing to face Arsenal, particularly when their opponents have already collected nine more league points.

An embattled but optimistic Dyche is anticipating that a returning cabal of formerly injured players, which could include any or all of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Michael Keane, Dwight McNeil (following a substitute appearance against Sheff Utd) as well as new recruit Jack Harrison, will bring with them an improvement to the on-field performances as a whole. Whilst recent efforts have been discouraging, form counted for nought when their 1-0 home PL win against Arsenal last season ended a run of seven league games without victory (D1, L6), a game which marked Dyche’s first game in charge!

There are few other clubs that have troubled Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta quite like Everton. His personal win-draw rate of 43% against Everton in all competitions (W3, L4) is his second-worst against any single club, second only to his eight losses from ten encounters with Manchester City! But with €116m man Declan Rice on the scoresheet against Manchester United, the undefeated Gunners are in excellent shape to change that.

After they finished the previous PL season as the best travellers in the league, it was no surprise to see Arsenal conquer Crystal Palace away (1-0) in their only trip of this PL season. It was the only one of their last six league games not to see an opening goal scored within the first 30 minutes, so some early action could be on the cards. As one of six sides to win at least three of their first four PL matches, there’s certainly no room for complacency if they want to go one better than last season.

Players to watch: Perhaps it could be 13th time lucky for Everton midfielder Abdoulaye DoucourĂ©, who found the net against Sheffield United but has never done so against Arsenal in 12 attempts. In addition to his two goals this PL season, Arsenal’s Martin Ødegaard has also scored in three of his last four meetings with Everton.

Hot stat: Everton’s 1-0 win at home to Arsenal last season was their only victory of the 2022/23 PL against the ‘big six’ clubs (D4, L7).
