Bochum B. Monchengladbach prediction 2023-09-30

Bochum vs B. Monchengladbach prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-09-29 13:30.
Bochum manager Thomas Letsch is confident that his side will “pick (themselves) back up” as they look to respond to a club record-equalling defeat. Quite incredibly, the Blues were on the end of a 7-0 hammering at the hands of Bayern Munich for a third season running last weekend, bringing an end to a run of three successive draws in the Bundesliga.

Those stalemates are just about keeping Bochum out of the relegation zone, despite being one of the Bundesliga’s five remaining teams yet to pick up a league win this season (D3, L2) along with upcoming opponents Borussia Mönchengladbach. That record should not come as a surprise given no side has scored fewer than their total of four goals, while they also have the top flight’s joint-worst defence, already conceding 16 times.

Gladbach would love to heap some more misery upon their hosts and have history on their side after winning four of the last six H2Hs (D1, L1). They desperately need to rekindle that kind of form overall as their miserable return of just two points from their first five league games represents their worst start to a season since 2015/16.

It’s therefore been a pretty tough start for manager Gerardo Seoane, whose sole victory since taking charge this summer came against fifth-tier side Bersenbrück in the DFB-Pokal. Despite stalling at the starting grid, he believes his side are heading in the right direction, describing last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to top-four club Leipzig as “a step forwards” from a 3-3 draw with newly promoted Darmstadt six days earlier.

Key battle: Bochum will be hoping that Takuma Asano can find his shooting boots, as he is unbeaten in his last 20 league games in which he has scored (W17, D3). Looking to stop him could be Japanese international teammate Ko Itakura, although Itakura has been personally involved in just one clean sheet from 14 Bundesliga away games (W1, D7, L6).

Hot streak: Gladbach’s last six away Bundesliga matches saw both teams score on the day.
