Almeria Granada CF prediction 2023-10-01

Almeria vs Granada CF prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-09-30 12:00.
A woeful start to their La Liga (LL) campaign has sparked fears that the dreaded second-season syndrome is hitting Almería, after a 5-1 mauling by Sevilla last time out left them winless in their opening seven matches (D2, L5). LL’s bottom club have only once before started a top-flight campaign without a victory in their first eight games this century, that being in 2013/14, when they defied the odds and went on to survive by the skin of their teeth, finishing 17th that season.

Unfortunately for former manager Vicente Moreno, he won’t be around to work such miracles, after becoming the second LL manager to get sacked this term, as that Sevilla defeat proved the final straw for the Almería hierarchy. There isn’t much to be optimistic about at the Power Horse Stadium it seems, but the arrival of fellow strugglers Granada at least offers the Andalusian outfit a good chance of ending that winning drought given that they are unbeaten in their last five home H2Hs (W3, D2).

Not only have Granada never won away at Almería, but they haven’t even been able to get on the scoresheet! That’s a worrying statistic for manager Paco López, whose head might be next on the chopping block as this is a bottom-of-the-table clash, with the newly promoted visitors only two points better off than their hosts in 19th place.

Los NazarĂes will be 20th by the end of this round should they suffer defeat, meaning they would have lost six of their opening eight LL matches for only the second time in their history. A repeat of history could prove disastrous for Granada, as when experiencing the same fate in 2016/17, bottom is where they ultimately finished.

Players to watch: Sergio Arribas has scored half of Almería’s goals this campaign, all four of which came at home. He’ll be competing against Lucas Boyé, who’s scored an impressive three goals in his first four appearances for Granada, all of which arrived after the 65-minute mark.

Hot stat: Only one of Almería’s last eight home games has seen a scoreless first half.
