Breidablik FK Zorya Luhansk prediction 2023-10-05

Breidablik vs FK Zorya Luhansk prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-10-04 16:45.
After being knocked out in the qualifying rounds for the UEFA Champions League (UCL), Europa League (UEL) and third-tier Europa Conference League (UECL) in previous seasons, Breiðablik will finally bring the group stage of a major UEFA competition to their home fans this week when they host Zorya Luhansk in the second round of the 2023/24 UECL. Supporters at Kópavogsvöllur have already seen victories over Shamrock Rovers, Zrinjski Mostar and Struga in home ties of European qualification this season, but this will be the first time that three points will be on offer.

‘Blikar’ got off to a poor start on the first matchday of the UECL when they found themselves 3-0 down after 32 minutes away at Maccabi Tel Aviv, and although they did score twice in reply, they came into this match bottom of Group B after a 3-2 loss. The Icelanders have lost five of their last six in all competitions which most notably includes a 4-3 defeat to KR on Sunday in spite of a 3-1 lead, confirming they have issues conceding heavily in brief periods.

On the other hand, Zorya Luhansk picked up a point in their opening game of this campaign by fighting back from 1-0 down against Gent. It was a welcome result as they look to finish in the top two of a group stage after occupying either third or fourth place in previous UEL and UECL seasons.

However, they have lost eight of their last 11 European away ties (W2, D1), scoring more than one goal just once during this run, and will need to improve on this in their first competitive trip to Iceland. The visitors will also need to sort out their form irrespective of competition or location after going through the entirety of September without a victory (D2, L3) and failing to score in their last two games!

Players to watch: Klæmint Andrasson Olsen grabbed a goal and an assist at the weekend and also scored both of Breiðablik’s goals against Maccabi Tel Aviv, whilst Eduardo Guerrero delivered each of Zorya’s last two goals, both of which levelled the score at 1-1.

Hot stat: Zorya Luhansk returned a clean sheet in only three of their last 21 European away games (W4, D2, L15).
