Augsburg Darmstadt prediction 2023-10-07

Augsburg vs Darmstadt prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-10-06 13:30.
Augsburg went down to another away defeat on Sunday as they lost 2-0 at Freiburg, but they will look to extend their fine run of Bundesliga home form across 2023 (W6, D4, L2) on Saturday afternoon. Without the strong results at the WWK Arena from January onwards, relegation would have been a certainty, and it looks like a similar story could emerge this season, with the Bavarian outfit currently only two places above the relegation play-off place.

Enrico Maaßen’s side not only pick up points at home, but also deliver plenty of entertainment, with their three matches so far this term as hosts (W1, D2) producing 15 goals, including 11 in the first half of games. Augsburg got their first win of the 2023/24 campaign in their last home game, coming from behind to narrowly beat bottom-of-the-table Mainz 2-1, and doing so with a man down for the final third of the contest.

Newly promoted Darmstadt are another team loitering in the lower reaches of the table – just one point and one place behind Augsburg – but they finally got their first win of the season last Sunday as they overcame Werder Bremen 4-2. After racing into a 4-0 lead after 62 minutes, they then conceded in the 70th and 78th minutes to leave nerves jangling before collecting a much-needed three points, having squandered leads in their previous two encounters.

However, Torsten Lieberknecht’s men haven’t collected a point on the road since returning to the Bundesliga and have conceded eight goals from their last two away outings, albeit against Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart, who occupy the top two places ahead of the upcoming round of fixtures. The Lilies also have H2H history against them here, with their one win in the last 16 meetings with Augsburg (D4, L11) adding to the negatives ahead of this contest.

Players to watch: Attacker Ermedin Demirović has had a hand in five (G3, A2) of Augsburg’s eight goals at home this season, scoring the last three. Darmstadt’s Marvin Mehlem scored one and made another last Sunday and has racked up three goals so far this campaign, but has also received three yellow cards.

Hot stat: There have been between four and six goals in total across each of Darmstadt’s last five matches, including exactly six in three of the last four.
