Inter Bologna prediction 2023-10-07

Inter vs Bologna prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-10-06 13:00.
Since a shock defeat to Sassuolo in Serie A (SA), Inter Milan have produced a response of prospective champions, thumping Salernitana 4-0 before getting their first win in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) against Benfica. Boss Simone Inzaghi’s focus now returns to domestic action with his side far from secure at the summit, as arch-rivals AC Milan trail the Nerazzurri on goal difference alone.

Inter now set about a crucial run of home fixtures that sees three of their next four matches fall at the San Siro. The UCL visit of RB Salzburg, as well as struggling Roma lie in wait, but Bologna will be first to come to town – an opponent the Nerazzurri have won each of their last three home SA H2Hs against, scoring 15 times in the process, although they’ve not managed four such victories in succession since April 2004.

Bologna won’t be short of confidence as they set about ending that streak however, as Thiago Motta’s men remain unbeaten in SA since the opening weekend (W2, D4). The Rossoblù ended a run of three consecutive draws by beating struggling Empoli last time out (3-0), a result that doubled their goals scored tally for the season!

It’s at the back where Motta’s men have been most impressive though, keeping four SA clean sheets in a row, last conceding in the 22nd minute of their 2-1 win over newly-promoted Cagliari in early September. Only Inter have conceded fewer in the division, which perhaps isn’t the best omen for entertainment being on the menu given that Bologna have drawn each of their SA away matches, the last two of which ended goalless.

Players to watch: Nicolò Barella assisted Inter’s second goal last weekend and has been busy in his last four matches against Bologna (G1, A2, YC1). Riccardo Orsolini, meanwhile, netted a hat-trick against Empoli, becoming the first Bologna player since 2003/04 to score in six consecutive top-flight seasons – he was the match-winner as Bologna ran out 1-0 winners in February’s H2H.

Hot stat: Inter are the only SA side yet to concede before half-time this season.
