Frosinone Verona prediction 2023-10-08

Frosinone vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-10-07 13:00.
After winning Serie B at a canter last season, Frosinone have shown little sign of slowing down this season after their strongest start to a top-flight campaign in the club’s history. Their improvement was shown by boss Eusebio Di Francesco’s reaction to their 2-0 defeat against Roma in the last round, who lamented the fact that his “tactical approach fell apart”, yet that was just their second league defeat of the season (W2, D3, L2).

Di Francesco will hope for a better return against Hellas Verona, a side he has lost to in just four of his 15 all-time managerial H2Hs (W6, D5, L4). That’s not to mention that Frosinone have only last at home to last season’s champions Napoli so far in 2023/24 (W2, D1), yet the fact they’ve conceded in every home league game so far suggests the onus will be on the frontline to pick up any slack.

Just one point separates Verona from their hosts, yet that is the difference between ninth and 15th ahead of the round in this highly congested Serie A table! Despite their close proximity in terms of points, Verona have followed up a perfect two-game league start with a five-match winless run ahead of round eight (D2, L3), a streak which worryingly includes four scoring blanks in sequence.

You’d have to look all the way back to 2017 to find the last time Verona had gone longer without scoring a goal in the top-flight, and they were ultimately relegated in that campaign! Kickstarting their survival push with a win here seems crucial then, but Verona’s 100% losing record in away H2Hs (L3), combined with boss Marco Baroni’s identical pointless record against his opposite number (L3) hardly inspires confidence.

Players to watch: Midfield man Luca Mazzitelli scored both of his league goals for Frosinone this season between the 70th and 80th minute in their latest league win. He will try to shake the likes of Verona’s Cyril Ngonge, who scored in back-to-back games preceding their ongoing goal drought.

Hot stat: Six of Verona’s seven league games this season saw the result at half-time replicated at full-time.
