Belarus Romania prediction 2023-10-12

Belarus vs Romania prediction: EUROPE: Euro – Qualification betting tips on match 2023-10-11 18:45.
It’s a case of now or never for Belarus in UEFA European Championship qualifying (ECQ) after Carlos Alós’ side won just one of their opening six matches this time round (D1, L4). That return leaves the White Wings on just four points in a competitive-looking Group I, a tally not helped by their meagre return of just four goals after failing to score in their last two outings.

However, there are at least a few silver linings ahead of their meeting with Romania, not least the fact that their sole win in this qualifying campaign came as the designated home nation (a 2-1 victory over Kosovo). They’ve also avoided defeat in three of their five most recent encounters as nominal hosts (W1, D2), while their last home H2H in ECQ saw them keep a clean sheet in a stalemate. That said, only a win will do this time, as anything less will see Belarus unable to finish in the top two and qualify for Euro 2024.

By contrast, Romania are seemingly enjoying every minute of their qualifying campaign, remaining unbeaten after six matchdays (W3, D3). That tally was aided by a 2-1 triumph in the return fixture, a result Edward Iordănescu’s side will be desperate to replicate here as they look to reach just their fourth major tournament in the 21st century.

The Tricolours’ away form has anchored their qualification campaign so far, as they’ve taken five points from nine available on the road, fighting back from 2-0 down to claim a valuable draw against Switzerland in their last qualifier on their travels thanks to efforts in the 89th and 92nd minutes! Overall, Romania are five away matches without defeat including friendlies (W2, D3), their longest such run since a streak of five games back between October 2017 and November 2018!

Players to watch: Belarus forward Vladislav Morozov has scored twice in this qualifying campaign, with both goals coming after the 70th minute, including one in the reverse H2H. Meanwhile, Romania’s Valentin Mihaila seems to like late drama, with all three of his strikes in 2024 ECQ coming after the 85th minute!

Hot stat: None of Romania’s six 2024 ECQ matches have seen any side score over two goals.
