Huddersfield QPR prediction 2023-10-21

Huddersfield vs QPR prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-10-20 14:00.
Huddersfield return to action after the October international break with manager Darren Moore still searching for his first win since taking charge last month, drawing three and losing one so far. Those results see the club’s overall winless run stand at five (D4, L1), though on the flip side they have lost just one of the last seven (W2, D4, L1) to put some minor distance between themselves and the bottom three.

The Terriers shared the points in a 0-0 draw with Moore’s former employers and bottom club Sheffield Wednesday last time out, in turn becoming only the second team not to score against the Owls this term – Huddersfield’s third failure to find the back of the net this season. A return home could be the tonic they need to kick on given more than 62% (33/53) of Town’s points last season came at home, but having picked up just five from their first five at the John Smith’s Stadium in 2023/24, improvement is desperately needed.

They’ll fancy their chances against a QPR side who have won only six of their last 43 games in all competitions, and none of their most recent six in the Championship (D2, L4), losing the last three by an aggregate scoreline of 8-1. That said, both of the Hoops’ wins this term have come away from home, preserving leads at both Cardiff and Middlesbrough having scored first.

Gareth Ainsworth’s side will need to improve upon a rather poor record in this neck of the woods to pick up three points on Saturday though, with just two wins in their last 10 visits to Yorkshire (D2, L6), making this trip north look a rather daunting one as they seek a victory which could propel them out of the drop zone.

Key battle: Defender Michał Helik has proved a poacher for Huddersfield, with his three goals this season coming in either first or second-half added time. Defensive counterpart Kenneth Paal has found the back of the net three times too for QPR, converting an impressive average of 33% of his efforts on goal.

Hot stat: All three of Darren Moore’s managerial games against QPR so far have seen both teams score, and a minimum of five goals scored overall.
