Sevilla Real Madrid prediction 2023-10-21

Sevilla vs Real Madrid prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-10-20 16:30.
Sevilla produced a fine La Liga (LL) fightback from 2-0 down after 30 minutes to draw 2-2 with Rayo Vallecano before the international break, extending their record to one defeat across their last seven competitive fixtures (W2, D4). Turning draws into wins has to now be their target if they’re to move up the standings and challenge the top half that proved out of reach last term.

It’s more than five years since the hosts beat Real Madrid anywhere (D1, L8) so this is a tough way for Los Rojiblancos to return to action, even if that win in September 2018 did come at home. Perhaps defender Sergio Ramos, who is preparing to face his former club for the first time since leaving in 2021, can inspire them, especially with his side unbeaten in three LL home fixtures (W2, D1) while scoring an average of 2.67 goals per game. Ramos played twice against Madrid in season 2004/05 whilst at Sevilla, helping his side back then avoid defeat in both games (W1, D1) whilst scoring once!

Table-topping Madrid were busy during the break as they extended the contracts of Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde to 2028 and welcomed summer signing Ardo GĂĽler and key defender David Alaba back to first-team training. With ten wins across their 11 competitive fixtures this term (L1), a shrinking injury list is certainly ominous for the chasing pack.

A 3-0 win at high-flying Girona was the perfect way to bounce back from losing the Madrid derby 3-1 at Atlético previously and they’ve now won four of five league road fixtures this term. Los Blancos appear stronger on the road than they did last season, but they’ll be ready for a battle as although they’ve won each of the last four H2Hs here, all of them were by a one-goal margin.

Players to watch: Youssef En-Nesyri netted in each of his last three Sevilla appearances, twice after the 85th minute, but he’s never scored against Madrid. Also netting in each of his last three club appearances, Jude Bellingham (RMA) struck before half-time in both matches against Sevilla last term when playing for Borussia Dortmund.

Hot streak: Madrid haven’t conceded a LL goal after the 50th minute this term.
