TSC vs Freiburg prediction: EUROPE: Europa League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-10-25 16:45.
TSC Bačka Topola have already proven they deserve their Group A spot in this season’s UEFA Europa League (UEL), despite it being their first participation in any group stage of a UEFA competition. TSC took the game to UEFA Europa Conference League champions West Ham by claiming the lead in their opening group stage game only to eventually lose 3-1, before coming back from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Olympiacos.
Despite being able to draw positives, those two matches contribute to what has been a poor run of form for Žarko Lazetić’s men, who haven’t tasted victory in their last six competitive matches (D3, L3), making it hard to see how they’re going to avoid finishing last in Group A. Their next assignment will see Germany’s Freiburg visit the TSC Arena, marking the first time each side has faced a club from the opposing country.
Freiburg were pegged as a real threat to top Group A after going through last season’s UEL group stages unbeaten (W4, D2), and they carried on that momentum with 3-2 win over Olympiacos to open this campaign. Christian Streich’s men then fell short to arguably their biggest contenders for the Group A throne in their second match, losing 2-1 to West Ham.
They got back to winning ways over the weekend by beating Bochum 2-1 in Bundesliga action despite conceding first. It may not be quite as straightforward if they fall behind here though, as of Freiburg’s 23 European matches that didn’t end 0-0, only once did the team scoring first go on to lose, placing added emphasis on finding the opener.
Players to watch: TSC’s Miloš Pantović usually brings good luck with his goals, having never lost any of his last 15 goalscoring outings at club level (W11, D4), most recently rescuing a UEL point against Olympiacos. The same can’t be said for Freiburg’s Roland Sallai, whose goal against West Ham was in vain, but he will be dangerous nonetheless since his six goals prior to that were all scored on the road.
Hot stat: There were only two scoreless first halves in Freiburg’s last ten matches.
