Trnava Nordsjaelland prediction 2023-10-26

Trnava vs Nordsjaelland prediction: EUROPE: Europa Conference League – Group Stage betting tips on match 2023-10-25 19:00.
Still without a point to their name as they approach the halfway stage of the UEFA Europa Conference League (UECL) group stage, Spartak Trnava will likely see this as a ‘must win’ game if they’re to make any charge for the knockout stages. Damningly, the Slovakian outfit have lost both of their games by a combined 6-1 scoreline and are yet to even lead in a UECL group game this season, suggesting the competition could be a little too difficult.

The hosts do at least head into this with rather strong domestic form and a top-half position, right amongst the contenders vying for top spot. Complementing the four wins from their last five domestic games is a sound record of just two losses from their last 11 European home games (W6, D3), one of which was a 2-1 defeat to Fenerbahçe on the previous matchday.

Nordsjælland will have the honour of being Trnava’s first Danish opposition and should approach this round confidently, having recently “made history” in the words of assistant coach Michael Essien after posting the largest winning margin in UECL history. Their 7-1 triumph over Ludogorets, the very side that defeated Trnava 4-0, elevated them to second in Group H. Ending a five-game winless Danish Superliga run at the weekend was the ideal prelude to this continental trip.

Having finished last with one point in their only other European group stage campaign (2012/13), the Tigers have already improved upon that return and can keep their destiny in their own hands by winning their inaugural meeting with a Slovakian club. But three of their four European victories this season (including qualifiers) were collected at home, whilst just two of their 16 goals were recorded on the road (away: W1, D1, L1).

Players to watch: Trnava midfielder Erik Daniel recorded goal contributions in three of his last five UECL appearances (G2, A1), although he is yet to make his mark in the competition proper. It took Marcus Ingvartsen just two minutes to get Nordsjælland up and running with a goal in their historic 7-1 win, a strike which kept his goal per game average for the club in the UECL at one (G5).

Hot streak: Trnava haven’t kept a clean sheet across their last 13 UECL matches (W5, D2, L6).
