That saw them draw level with table-topping Real Madrid on points, and with El Clásico taking place this weekend, this is a serious opportunity for the club who were in the second tier just two seasons ago to end the round above the rest.
It probably goes without saying that this is Girona’s strongest ever start to a top-flight season (W8, D1, L1), a record which has not come easy for the club with a joint league-high ten points being won from losing positions.
