Wolves Newcastle prediction 2023-10-28

Wolves vs Newcastle prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-10-27 16:30.
After they both enjoyed victories last weekend, Wolverhampton and Newcastle United boast two of the Premier League’s (PL) longest active undefeated streaks. Assisted by the sending off of Bournemouth’s Lewis Cook, Wolves delivered a late winner on the south coast to collect their third win from eight PL games (D1, L4) as an underdog. It was yet another exciting Wolves match that rewarded spectators for their patience, with all but four of their 26 PL goals scored or conceded this term coming in the second half!

Manager Gary O’Neil is developing into a shrewd PL tactician, earning widespread plaudits after he appeared on British television during the week to share training ground footage of strategies prepared for their recent 2-1 wins over both Bournemouth and Manchester City. Sandwiched between those two victories was a 1-1 draw with high-flying Aston Villa in their previous PL home outing, which suggests they’re capable of taking points from any opposition at Molineux.

Newcastle finished the previous match week four points outside the top four after a thumping 4-0 win over Crystal Palace that extended their PL record as a pre-match favourite this season to W5, D1, L1. More importantly, they’re now five league games without defeat (W4, D1) and off to their best start to a PL season since 2011/12, which is hard to believe given they’re already playing catch up in the top four race.

A 1-0 UEFA Champions League loss at home to Borussia Dortmund during the week certainly wasn’t ideal preparation for a visit to Molineux, with Eddie Howe telling the media that “the most disappointing thing of the night” were the injuries to Alexander Isak and Jacob Murphy, both of whom look set for extended stays on the sideline. It will further stretch what Howe described as “a small squad as it is” ahead of what is to be the third of seven competitive matches in a 22-day period.

Players to watch: Hwang Hee-Chan remains the only Wolves player to score a PL goal at Molineux this season, doing so in all four of their home matches! Isak’s absence will mean a greater responsibility for Callum Wilson, who has scored after half-time in five separate PL matches this season (W4, L1).

Hot stat: Seven of the last nine PL H2Hs produced fewer than 2.5 total goals, including six 1-1 draws.
