B. Monchengladbach Heidenheim prediction 2023-10-28

B. Monchengladbach vs Heidenheim prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-10-27 13:30.
Borussia Mönchengladbach’s disappointing start to the Bundesliga campaign continued with a 3-1 Rhine derby defeat to Cologne on Sunday, and after just one league win this season (D3, L4), they occupy an underwhelming bottom-half position. These are early days still, but their significant squad overhaul and the appointment of Gerardo Seoane have yet to have the desired effect.

Everyone at the club will hope that Saturday marks the start of a change in fortunes as they take on promoted side Heidenheim in a first-ever league H2H, while still seeking their first home league victory of the season (D1, L3). Even that draw came courtesy of an 88th-minute equaliser, but Gladbach have not had it easy, having already hosted Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich, all of whom are competing in Europe this term!

The wheels fell off for Heidenheim in their last fixture as they raced into a 2-0 lead against Augsburg after 20 minutes only to lose 5-2 for their joint-heaviest Bundesliga defeat. Their return of seven points (W2, D1, L5) from their first eight top-flight fixtures is still a decent effort though, leaving them a point ahead of their hosts, who prevailed on penalties in their only previous competitive meeting back in 2011.

Long-serving Heidenheim head coach Frank Schmidt was in charge that day, and he’d probably take another draw in normal time given that Heidenheim have earned just one away point this term (D1, L3) – a 2-2 draw against Borussia Dortmund. Conceding first in all four of those fixtures on the road, three times before the tenth minute, must have Schmidt stressing the importance of starting well here.

Players to watch: Florian Neuhaus opened the scoring between the 20th and 30th minutes in two of Gladbach’s last three fixtures. Aiming to better him will be Heidenheim’s Jan-Niklas Beste, who’s netted twice across his last three appearances, while two of his last three strikes completed the scoring.

Hot streak: Heidenheim have trailed ‘to nil’ at half-time in each of their four league away games so far this term.
