Mallorca Getafe prediction 2023-10-28

Mallorca vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-10-27 16:30.
Two of the three sides to have drawn five of their first ten La Liga (LL) games of 2023/24 will clash at the Iberostar Stadium on Saturday, and a sixth stalemate will benefit neither club. Home side Mallorca have failed to win their last five matches (D3, L2) after a 1-0 loss to Real Sociedad in the previous round, a poor run of form which saw them hovering perilously close to the relegation zone ahead of this round.

Mallorca also began the round as one of three teams yet to win at home this LL season (D3, L1). But with all three draws coming against clubs in the top half of the standings, they should go into this fixture with Getafe feeling confident, even despite giving up the lead on three occasions across their last two LL games at home.

Ironically, that was precisely what happened to Getafe on their last visit to Mallorca in April 2023, when they unwillingly converted a 1-0 half-time lead into a 3-1 loss! One game later, current manager José Bordalás had taken charge from his predecessor Quique Sánchez Flores, but their inability to hold onto a lead remains persistently sticky. Getafe took the lead early through Borja Mayoral away to both Real Madrid (L 2-1) and Celta Vigo (D 2-2) before going home without three points.

It hasn’t overall been a poor start to the season so far for Getafe, who came into this round of fixtures in 11th place, on a run of four successive draws (three as pre-match outsiders), and with a better ten-round points tally than in their two previous seasons. But not only are they yet to win away from home this season, Getafe have dropped points in all but one of their last 18 LL away trips, a sequence stretching back to November 2022.

Players to watch: Like the rest of his Mallorca teammates, Vedat Muriqi drew a blank in the last match, ending a run of five successive games with goal contributions (G4, A2) for the Kosovan international. The aforementioned Mayoral has been in fine form for Getafe, playing a role in each of their last three goals (G2, A1). Of his five strikes this season, four arrived prior to half-time.

Hot stat: Getafe’s five away LL matches this season all produced over 2.5 total goals (average: 4.2 per game).
