Darmstadt Bochum prediction 2023-11-03

Darmstadt vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-11-02 19:30.
Darmstadt became the third team in Bundesliga history to concede eight goals in one half last weekend, going down 8-0 at Bayern Munich despite going into half-time on level terms. It was also the first game in Bundesliga history to see three first-half red cards shown, whilst also serving as Darmstadt’s heaviest-ever Bundesliga defeat!

Aiming to bounce back quickly, the Lilies face a still winless opponent in Bochum, who they hold a three match home H2H unbeaten run against (W1, D2). The two draws ended goalless, but Darmstadt cannot be accused of boredom in their own stadium this season, as all four of their league games at home so far this term (W1, D1, L2) saw both teams score with a total of at least four goals.

Bochum were seconds away from their first league win of the season (D5, L4) last weekend, but they conceded an injury time equaliser in a 2-2 draw with Mainz. There is growing pressure on boss Thomas Letsch after such a dismal run, but the under-fire coach insists he “really doesn’t care” about media speculation surrounding his future.

The mere fact the visitors have never previously gone winless after nine games in any of their 35 Bundesliga seasons probably explains why Letsch is under pressure, although they still currently have one point more than last season! Given Bochum have failed to score in three of their five on the road and two of their three away losses came by at least a five-goal margin, it’s hard to see that elusive victory even coming against a Darmstadt side licking their wounds after last week.

Players to watch: Tim Skarke was the Flashscore Man of the Match in Darmstadt’s last win, scoring the opener in a 2-1 victory at Augsburg, and all three of his goal scoring appearances this season saw his team avoid defeat (W2, D1). A happy traveller, Takuma Asano has scored all three of his goals for Bochum away from home this term.

Hot stat: Darmstadt have conceded 21 second half Bundesliga goals this season – comfortably a league high.
