Darmstadt Mainz prediction 2023-11-11

Darmstadt vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-11-10 14:30.
Darmstadt’s 2-1 Bundesliga defeat to Bochum left them fourth from bottom as they suffered three consecutive league losses for the second time already this season. With manager Torsten Lieberknecht taking leave to be with his wife, who recently suffered a stroke, it’s been a tough week for everyone at the club ahead of this clash with Mainz, who they lead by a single point.

For the Lilies to maintain or build on that lead, then extending a sequence of scoring in all five of their home league fixtures this term (W1, D1, L3) and netting in each of the last five home H2Hs (W2, L3) would help. Ill-discipline may yet hold them back as two of their four league red cards this term came at home, including one against Bochum last Friday.

But Mainz have been no saints either, collecting one fewer yellow card (28) than Darmstadt (29) in the Bundesliga this term, which you could argue was a commitment to improving their league position. They’re getting some reward for their efforts as their 2-0 league win over RB Leipzig was their first of the season (D3, L6) and they’ve now lost only one of their last four Bundesliga games (W1, D2).

Travelling remains an issue after gaining just two points on the road (D2, L3) this season. They have also conceded an average of 2.8 goals per league away game while not winning any of their last nine Bundesliga road games overall (D4, L5). Drawing the last two of those 2-2 suggests they’re making good strides, although they haven’t drawn three consecutive league fixtures away from home since March 2013!

Key battle: Tobias Kempe netted from the penalty spot in three of Darmstadt’s last five fixtures, twice between the 60th and 70th minute. If he gets another chance he should be confident given Mainz stopper Robin Zentner has faced four this term away from home, saving none of them.

Hot stat: Darmstadt have hit the post or bar six times in the league this term – a joint league-high along with Bayern Munich after matchday ten.
