PSV vs Zwolle prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-11-11 11:15.
The undisputed kings of the current Eredivisie season finally managed to book their first Champions League victory earlier this week. PSV Eindhoven is one of just a few top flight clubs in major leagues to have suffered defeat this league season and they managed to underline that impressive performance with a 1-0 midweek win against Lens. This happened in a game that carries extra weight for Dutch football, who are hoping to again depose France from fifth place in the UEFA coefficient rankings.
Peter Bosz’s team will enter this round with a seven-point lead over numbers two to four on the standings and with a tremendous goal difference. They had recorded at least six more goals (41) than any other club and, together with AZ Alkmaar, conceded the equal fewest (five). In total, the Eindhoven formation has been undefeated for 32 competitive matches against Dutch clubs (W27, D5), having scored in every single game. By scoring only once against Lens, they ended a series of 20 home games in all competitions with 2+ goals to their name.
Their opponent PEC Zwolle knows that there is a very small chance it will make upward progress in the standings this weekend and will mainly look to limit the damage. After all, the Blauwvingers lost their last 15 meetings with PSV, having conceded 3+ goals in 12 of those matches. But PEC have already won four competitive games since promotion and sat comfortably in the top half for the time being.
Previous head coach Dick Schreuder, who led PEC to promotion last season, recently lashed out at his former employer in the press. He claimed to be surprised by the lack of professionalism at the club and said that his current club CD Castellón, which plays in the third level of Spain’s pyramid, is doing better in that regard. Although the Zwolle team recently lost to an amateur opposition in the first round of the KNVB Cup (1-0), they are now undefeated in three league games.
Players to watch: Luuk de Jong has already amassed 16 goals and eight assists in 20 appearances for PSV this season, whilst Zwolle’s Younes Namli has scored in two of his last three Eredivisie matches.
Hot streak: PSV’s 11 Eredivisie wins this season were all by a 2+ goal margin.
