Spain Georgia prediction 2023-11-19

Spain vs Georgia prediction: EUROPE: Euro – Qualification betting tips on match 2023-11-18 19:45.
With an eighth consecutive UEFA European Championship finals ticket already booked, all that’s left to do for Spain in this qualifying (ECQ) group is to grab at least a point which will more than likely be enough to see them confirmed as Group A winners. Just one point won’t be on the minds of many Spanish fans though, especially seeing as they’ve won each of their last 25 ECQ home games, including seven in a row without reply ahead of this!

It’s now seven straight victories in all competitions at any venue for La Roja, who also claimed their first ever UEFA Nations League trophy along the way to securing safe passage to Germany 2024. A visit from Georgia won’t particularly scare them too much either as Spain mercilessly thrashed them 7-1 in the reverse to further strengthen an impressive all-time H2H record (W5, L1).

The chance for Georgia to qualify for next summer’s tournament via the group has passed, although they do have a play-off to look forward to as they seek a first ever major tournament appearance. The Georgians did well to take a point from already-qualified Scotland to kick off November’s internationals, and have taken a win away to Spain at double-figure odds back in 2016, so there is a tepid argument for cautious optimism.

Much like their hosts in ECQ home action, one must look back a fair way to find Georgia’s last stalemate in an away Euro qualifier, although just three of their last 12 such trips since ended in victory (W3, L9). More studious fans won’t let the 25% win-rate across that period build too much hope here though, as Georgia have not beaten any team within the top-100 ranked sides by FIFA on their ECQ travels since the turn of the century.

Players to watch: Touted as the next big thing in Spanish football in many quarters, Lamine Yamal scored his second goal in three senior international caps this week despite only turning 16 in the summer. Six years his senior, 22 year-old Georgian talisman Khvicha Kvaratskhelia bagged a brace against Scotland, helping him secure four Flashscore player of the match accolades across his last eight games for club & country (G5, A2).

Hot stat: Four of Georgia’s last five ECQ away defeats also saw them trail at half-time, just as four of their five H2H defeats did.
