Albania Faroe Islands prediction 2023-11-20

Albania vs Faroe Islands prediction: EUROPE: Euro – Qualification betting tips on match 2023-11-19 19:45.
Despite letting their lead slip late on against Moldova on Friday evening, the point Albania earned from their 1-1 draw in ChiƟinău was enough to see them seal qualification for next summer’s UEFA European Championships. It’ll be just a second-ever appearance at a Euros for the FIFA ranked #59 nation, and they’ll certainly want to give a better account of themselves than 2016’s group stage exit.

Before Sylvinho and his side can start plotting how they’re going to improve upon that feat come 2024, they’ll be looking to round off their qualification campaign by extending their unbeaten run to seven (W4, D2) in competitive action. That would stretch that run to eight matches overall, and doing so would equal an all-time streak as only once before have the Eagles gone unbeaten for that long, but that came over a decade ago (November 2009-October 2010).

They’ll fancy their chances on home soil in Tirana against the Faroe Islands too, as they sit rock bottom of Group E with just a single point to their name from their seven games, scoring just twice. HĂ„kan Ericson’s side were beaten 2-0 in a friendly by Norway last week – their eighth defeat in a row and 11th match without a win overall (D2, L9).

As if all the defeats weren’t bad enough, the Faroese fans have had precious little to cheer about as they haven’t even scored in any of their last five matches. Reasons for positives are there however, as the last nation they did find the net against was Albania in June’s reverse fixture, although they did go on to lose that clash 3-1.

Players to watch: The Faroe Islands have conceded the second-most penalties of all 53 nations involved in qualifying (4), and given that Albania’s Sokol Cikalleshi scored from the spot against Moldova on Friday, he looks a good bet to be on target here again. In the opposition camp, Andrias Edmundsson will do well to avoid a card having been booked in three of his four appearances for the Faroe Islands.

Hot stat: The Faroe Islands haven’t lost by more than a two-goal margin in any of their last six outings.
