Sheffield Utd vs Bournemouth prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-11-24 15:00.
[p]A two-match unbeaten run (W1, D1) has shown manager Paul Heckingbottom the “evidence” he needed that his Sheffield United side can compete in the Premier League (PL). After their last-gasp victory over Wolves, the Blades came from behind to rescue a draw away at Brighton before the international break, meaning they can now go three top-flight matches without defeat for the first time since the summer of 2020.[/p]
[p]It’s in attack where the Yorkshire outfit are beginning to find their feet, only failing to score in one of their last five matches – a 5-0 reverse away at Arsenal. Heckingbottom will therefore have spent most of the break wondering how to improve their defending as the Blades have conceded a division-high 31 goals, 21 of which have arrived in the second half of matches. A first clean sheet of the PL season wouldn’t go amiss either, especially as Sheffield United could escape the relegation zone with victory here.[/p]
[p]They’ll certainly be confident of doing just that with Bournemouth the next visitors to Bramall Lane, as the Cherries have won just two of the 19 previous H2Hs (D6, L11), with their only prior victory on Sheffield United soil coming way back in August 1987. Like the Blades though, Andoni Iraola’s men entered the international window on a high, winning two of their last three PL matches, including an impressive 2-0 victory over Newcastle most recently.[/p]
[p]That run has relieved some pressure on the Spaniard’s position after a rotten start to his tenure, but his next task has to be improving Bournemouth’s away form. They’ve failed to win any of their five top-flight away matches this term (D1, L4), conceding at least twice in each of those games. As a consequence, the Cherries share the joint-worst record on their travels in the PL this term – ironically with Sheffield United![/p]
[p]Players to watch: On the three occasions in which the Blades have avoided defeat in the PL this season, Cameron Archer has been on target in two of them – the striker also scored on his only previous home H2H against Bournemouth, a 2-1 win while on loan at Preston. Compatriot Dominic Solanke is a man in form for the Cherries, scoring both goals in their victory over Newcastle two weeks ago.[/p]
[p]Hot stat: Sheffield United have conceded a division-high 11 goals between the 75th minute and full-time.[/p]
