Dortmund vs B. Monchengladbach prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-11-24 14:30.
The international break came at a good time for Borussia Dortmund after they followed up a 17-game unbeaten run of Bundesliga games with a pair of consecutive defeats against Bayern Munich and Stuttgart. Those losses left the perennial title challengers languishing ten points off the title pace in fifth position already, albeit still with two more points than at this stage of last season when they took the title race to the final day!
Dortmund manager Edin Terzić has managed to keep the pressure off himself a little as they currently top their tough Champions League group. But even so, returning to the kind of form which saw the hosts go over a year unbeaten in home league action before their Der Klassiker defeat (W17, D3) is at the forefront of their minds against Borussia Mönchengladbach who they’ve beaten in ten consecutive home H2Hs.
Whilst the Foals aren’t quite hitting the heights this season, taking just 13 points from 11 games (W3, D4, L4), they enter this clash in fine form, scoring at least thrice in three straight games for the first time under boss Gerardo Seoane. The most recent game in that mini-run was Gladbach’s largest victory under the Swiss coach, a 4-0 trouncing of Wolfsburg which lifted them into the top-half ahead of this matchday.
Despite their rotten away record in Dortmund, Gladbach have shown great character to avoid defeat in five of their last six away league games overall (W1, D4, L1), with each draw in that sequence seeing the Foals rescue a point from losing positions. Grabbing one point may well be the limit of their hope here though, as a meagre 14% win rate as pre-match outsiders in Bundesliga action paints a rather bleak picture (W1, D2, L4).
Players to watch: Niclas Füllkrug hit his tenth goal for Germany during November’s international schedule in just 13 appearances, making it three goals across his last four games for club and country. As for Gladbach, Alassane Pléa has now scored in three straight Bundesliga appearances for the first time in over a year, but he’s faced only Schalke more often than their Revierderby rivals Dortmund without ever scoring (W1, L7).
Hot stat: Dortmund have held a half-time lead in just one of their six home league games this season (HT: W1, D3, L2).
