Hoffenheim Mainz prediction 2023-11-26

Hoffenheim vs Mainz prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-11-25 16:30.
November’s international break came at the perfect time for Hoffenheim, who despite sitting inside the Bundesliga’s top-six ahead of this round, have now won just one of their last four league matches (D1, L2). Despite that recent blip, this is the most points the Kraichgauer have accumulated at this stage of a season since 2019/20 – a campaign that ended in their most recent qualification for Europe.

Replicating that success will surely require an improvement in home form, as no side in the division have earned fewer points on their own turf so far than Hoffenheim’s three (W1, L4). That miserable return includes three successive defeats, leaving Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side on the brink of suffering four such losses in a row for the first time since November 2022.

Mainz will be keen to pile on the pain and should be confident of doing so having won four of the last five H2Hs (L1). The 05ers have their own problems however, sitting inside the bottom-three ahead of the round with just one Bundesliga victory to their name after 11 rounds (D4, L6). That return saw former boss Bo Svensson leave the club in early November and since, interim manager Jan Siewert has overseen an upturn in form (W1, D1), including an impressive 2-0 win over Champions League chasing RB Leipzig.

The strugglers kept clean sheets in both of those matches, and will now be looking to record three successive Bundesliga shutouts for the first time since September 2021. Casting doubt over that is Mainz’s ongoing ten-match winless run on the road in league action (D5, L5), a sequence that includes a streak of three consecutive draws which they’ll be hoping to end here in a positive way, as they’ve not been held to four straight away league stalemates since December 2011!

Players to watch: On target for his country during the break, Wout Weghorst has netted in three of his last four Hoffenheim appearances, each time before the hour mark. Mainz forward Karim Onisiwo is yet to score this term, but his first strike could provide a good luck charm given that the 05ers went unbeaten when he was on the scoresheet last season (W5, D2).

Hot stat: Of the 12 goals Hoffenheim have conceded at home in the Bundesliga this season, ten have arrived before half-time.
