Las Palmas Getafe prediction 2023-12-01

Las Palmas vs Getafe prediction: SPAIN: LaLiga betting tips on match 2023-11-30 20:00.
Las Palmas sit closer to the top six than the relegation zone despite their slow start to this La Liga (LL) season in which they failed to win any of their opening five matches (D2, L3). The league newbies have found their feet more recently though, with just two league defeats from their past seven matches (W4, D1) – including the 1-0 loss to Real Betis last time out. A sturdy defence has been key to their turnaround and they head into this gameweek having conceded fewer league goals than 17 other LL clubs (13).

This will be another test of how they handle the weight of expectations, having won just one of their three LL games as pre-match favourites this season (D1, L1). On the basis of starting this round in 11th place both in the overall and the ‘home’ standings, they start this game as slight favourites, perhaps due to the fact they’ve been victorious in three of their last four LL home outings (L1), each by a single-goal margin.

Hosting Getafe seemingly presents an excellent opportunity to keep up that impressive home form, with their visitors a little too dependent on their home success. Getafe’s last eight LL games, which saw no losses (W2, D6) but draws away to the lowly ranked trio of Mallorca (0-0), Granada (1-1) and Celta Vigo (2-2), could be viewed with both optimism and pessimism as they know their eighth-place position at the start of the round is impressive, but perhaps lower than where they ought to be given their recent dropped points on the road.

Club President Ángel Torres took to Spanish radio to defend manager JosĂ© BordalĂĄs, describing recent criticism of his tactical methods as “unfair”. Whilst BordalĂĄs therefore appears to have the support of his boss, frustration amongst the fans could continue to grow if Getafe cannot soon secure their first away victory (D4, L3) of this season.

Players to watch: Kirian RodrĂguez delivered the opening goal against AtlĂ©tico in his last home start. Four of his last five goals for the club were scored at home, whilst six of his last seven came after half-time. Borja Mayoral could pop up before him, having scored Getafe’s opening goal in six 2023/24 LL games.

Hot stat: Las Palmas’ 2-0 loss to Real Madrid was their only game of this LL season to be decided by a 2+ goal margin.
