Burnley Sheffield Utd prediction 2023-12-02

Burnley vs Sheffield Utd prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2023-12-01 15:00.
[p]Leading 1-0 at the 85th minute against West Ham last weekend, it seemed incomprehensible to think Burnley’s six-match Premier League losing home run this season wouldn’t end, but somehow it stretched to seven games, as a late collapse saw them lose 2-1. That means the Clarets are now one of just two teams in English league history to open a campaign with seven successive home losses. [/p]

[p]Amidst growing calls to face the sack, boss Vincent Kompany has urged his side to “get back up and go again”, but you sense that his position may become untenable if they can’t get the better of their fellow strugglers, Sheffield United. They managed to do just that in last season’s corresponding Championship fixture (W 2-0), but with Burnley one of just four sides without a PL clean sheet this season, a repeat seems unlikely.[/p]

[p]The PL table reads equally as gloomy for Sheffield United, who are also starting to become cut adrift after collecting just five points so far, just one more than Burnley. A 3-1 home defeat against fellow strugglers Bournemouth last weekend did little to help their cause, nor that of boss Paul Heckingbottom, who like his opposite number is facing growing calls to be dismissed, rendering this game a potential ‘El Sackico’ where whoever loses could face the chop. [/p]

[p]If Burnley’s home form is bad, the Blades’ PL away record is almost equally as poor this season (D1, L5), although their last such game did yield that sole draw as they battled from behind to hold a ten-man Brighton 1-1. A lack of goals is certainly part of their problem as they’re yet to score before the break in a PL away game this term, while of the four they’ve scored after the break, two have been own goals![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Burnley’s hometown boy Jay Rodriguez netted from the penalty spot against West Ham, his fourth goal from his last five to arrive after the break. Aside from the own goals, Gustavo Hamer is the only other player to score a PL away goal for Sheffield United this season![/p]

[p]Hot stat: Burnley have lost all three home league games this season in which they’ve scored first. [/p]
