Sittard vs Vitesse prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2023-12-01 19:00.
After losing six of their last eight competitive matches, Fortuna Sittard will be delighted to have an opportunity against the league’s last-placed club to get some points. After last weekend's 3-0 defeat at SC Heerenveen, the Limburgers are only one point above the danger zone, while they are one of only a few teams with more games than goals in the Eredivisie (13 to 12).
No Fortuna player has managed to crown himself as a prodigious goalgetter this season, because none of them have already produced three or more goals. Fortuna is, crucially as far as this game is concerned, less likely to give up at home than on foreign soil, as underlined by the fact that the team is undefeated in seven of its last eight home games (W4, D3). Danny Buijs' team must also have been instructed to work more carefully in their own penalty area, because last week they gave away two spot kicks to Heerenveen.
Nobody expected that Vitesse Arnhem would suddenly turn the tide when visiting goliaths Ajax, but the fact that the team fell 2-0 behind within 15 minutes was certainly disappointing for the Arnhem team. Vitesse has been the worst performing club in the competition in almost every respect. Not only are they at the bottom of the rankings, but are also the team that has scored the least often (nine times) and has the worst goal difference in the Eredivisie (-20).
This season, Vitesse is the only club in the competition to have taken a half-time lead only once, and that was surprisingly enough against current league leaders PSV. One of the only bright spots for the Arnhem residents is the development of Million Manhoef. The son of former martial arts great Melvin regularly makes the highlights reel with his explosive attacking play, and he has consequently now scored three times both in this Eredivisie season and for the Dutch Juniors.
Key battle: Kaj Sierhuis scored five goals in as many games against Vitesse (G2, A3). He’ll go up against Eloy Room who, together with Nordin Bakker from Almere City, had made the most saves of all goalkeepers in the Eredivisie (63) coming into this round.
Hot stat: Vitesse scored no more than once in 12 of their last 13 competitive matches.
