Udinese Verona prediction 2023-12-03

Udinese vs Verona prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2023-12-02 14:00.
Draw kings Udinese (W1, D8, L4) appeared to be destined for yet another stalemate before conceding in the 81st minute of their last Serie A (SA) outing on the way to losing 3-1 to Roma. It was a result that head coach Gabriele Cioffi said was “hard to digest”, particularly as they now begin this round just one point ahead of the relegation zone despite suffering just one defeat across their last seven league matches (W1, D5).

Concerningly, Udinese are the only SA side yet to win a league game at home this season, with a late equaliser conceded to Atalanta in their last such outing stretching their current run to three home draws in a row. Their recent history with upcoming opponents Hellas Verona points to an extension of that trend, as three of the last four H2Hs held here ended tied (W1, D3).

A hard-fought 2-2 draw against Lecce saved Verona’s coach Marco Baroni as their fans saw a different approach from his side who fired 11 shots on target – more than in the previous three SA matches combined. Baroni praised his players for securing the draw despite “two foolish goals” conceded, but they nonetheless remain in the relegation zone after being unable to win a league match since the end of August (D3, L8).

It’s a familiar but unwanted situation for Verona after they survived the previous Serie A season only through a relegation tiebreaker. They continue to be particularly poor on the road, winning just two SA away games since the start of last season (D8, L16) after extending their current losing streak on their travels to four games, failing to score in each of the last three such outings.

Players to watch: Florian Thauvin is the only Udinese player to score more than once across their last six competitive matches (G2, A1), with both of his strikes coming in the first 15 minutes of the second half. Verona’s Milan Djurić scored and assisted in their last outing, with his both SA goals this term coming beyond the 75th minute.

Hot stat: Udinese are the only SA side yet to score during the opening 15 minutes.
