Hoffenheim Bochum prediction 2023-12-08

Hoffenheim vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-12-07 19:30.
A 2-1 loss to Borussia Mönchengladbach in their last game extended Hoffenheim’s winless league run to four matches (D2, L2), although given they conceded first in all four, it could've been a whole lot worse. Coach Pellegrino Matarazzo described their latest loss as “unnecessary” as they dominated the game, but if there's any crumb of comfort for Hoffenheim, they’re still nowhere near matching the 14-match winless run they posted last season (D2, L12).

A return to home turf may not be too useful in the hosts’ quest to snap that streak, as they have collected just one of their last 14 points at home. Things may yet get worse on that front for Hoffenheim, who have seen their last four home H2Hs against Bochum alternate between defeats and wins, and having won the last such game 3-2 last season, they’ll have to end that pattern here if they’re to close the gap on the top four.

Now five unbeaten in the Bundesliga (W2, D3), their longest such run since promotion in 2021, Bochum collected their first home win of the season last weekend against Wolfsburg (3-1). That mini-revival is a welcome relief for Bochum, who had collected just three points from their opening seven games, but their recent surge in results now sees them sit in the relative comfort of 12th spot.

That seasonal improvement is in keeping with their upturn in away form too, as after conceding 14 goals in their first three league road trips this season, they’ve leaked just three in the following four (W1, D2, L1). They’ll have to break a little hoodoo to tip the balance in favour of the win column here, as Bochum haven’t won a Bundesliga away game this season against a side starting this round in the top-half (D2, L3).

Players to watch: In fine form of late, Hoffenheim’s Wout Weghorst has scored in four of his last five Bundesliga appearances. Not quite as prolific, Patrick Osterhage opened the scoring in Bochum’s last win with his first-ever Bundesliga goal.

Hot stat: The eight Bundesliga H2Hs between these two sides have produced an average of 3.75 goals per game.
