Werder Bremen Augsburg prediction 2023-12-09

Werder Bremen vs Augsburg prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-12-08 14:30.
Werder Bremen are in a troubling run of form with no Bundesliga win across their past four matches (D2, L2). Their most recent defeat at high-flying Stuttgart (2-0) left them just two points clear of the relegation play-off spot at the end of the last round, and with a whopping ten fewer points on the board than what they had at the same stage of last season!

The biggest issue for Ole Werner’s men right now is a leaky defence, with his Bremen side conceding 2+ goals in all four matches within that winless run. Compounding those troubles is that the hosts are illustrating themselves as somewhat of a ‘flat-track bully’ this season, with their only three wins of the campaign coming against sides starting the round below them inside the league’s bottom-four.

That should hand an improving Augsburg – who finished the previous gameweek up in ninth – a boost as they bid to extend their unbeaten league run to seven matches (W3, D3). You’d have to go back to December 2019 for the last time before now that they went undefeated across six top-tier matches, while another success here would hand them four straight H2H league victories against Bremen for the first time since October 2017.

Augsburg have also been providing plenty of entertainment in recent weeks with each of their last six league matches seeing both teams score – only games involving Hoffenheim have seen both sides score more often coming into the gameweek (11). However, that hasn’t happened in three of the last four H2Hs between these two sides.

Players to watch: Bremen fans will be desperate to see their top league scorer Marvin Ducksch (G5) back on the scoresheet given his side are unbeaten (W1, D2) in the last three Bundesliga matches in which he netted. Ermedin Demirović is Augsburg’s man in form with four direct goal contributions across his last three league matches (G2, A2).

Hot stat: Augsburg are one of just eight remaining teams across Europe’s traditional big five divisions who had yet to keep a league clean sheet at the end of the last round.
