Millwall Huddersfield prediction 2023-12-16

Millwall vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2023-12-15 15:00.
While Millwall started the season relatively well, recording four victories in their first ten Championship matches of the campaign (D2, L4), just one win in the 11 outings to follow (D4, L6) sees the Lions sitting 20th. That solitary triumph came in head coach Joe Edwards’ first game in charge, but since then, his side have picked up only one point from a possible 15, a run that extended in midweek with a 3-2 defeat away to promotion-chasing Leicester.

A return home isn’t certain to bring about any improvement either, as Millwall have the worst home record in the division (W2, D2, L6), with their last victory at The Den coming all the way back on 20 September (D2, L4 since). Falling behind will likely end their chances of not only snapping that run, but also securing Edwards a first home win in charge, as in the 13 league matches when they have trailed so far this term, they haven’t recovered to win any of them (D3, L10).

Upcoming opponents Huddersfield Town will therefore fancy their chances of taking the spoils in south-east London, and are incentivised by the fact that three points here will see them leapfrog their relegation rivals. Despite the Terriers having only won one of their last nine themselves (D4, L4), they do at least hold the psychological advantage of having done the H2H double in 2022/23.

Securing a third successive H2H victory for the first time since a run of five that ended in 2015 certainly won’t be easy, especially on the back of a bruising 3-1 home defeat to Preston in midweek. But Huddersfield are unbeaten in their last two away trips (W1, D1) and have collected nearly as many points on their travels as at home, while five of their last seven visits to the capital have yielded wins (L2)!

Players to watch: Millwall’s Kevin Nisbet has three goals in his last four games, with two of those strikes coming in substitute appearances. Delano Burgzorg has scored in four matches since joining Huddersfield in the summer, with each of those encounters seeing both teams find the net.

Hot streak: None of the last six H2Hs have seen both teams score on the day.
