Eintracht Frankfurt B. Monchengladbach prediction 2023-12-20

Eintracht Frankfurt vs B. Monchengladbach prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2023-12-19 19:30.
This past weekend, Eintracht Frankfurt had the unenviable task of facing Europe’s in-form side and Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen. They were swept aside with a comfortable 3-0 defeat, making it just one win from the Eagles' last eight competitive matches (D1, L6), with that one success a 5-1 mauling of Bayern Munich, which is a result that’s looking increasingly bizarre as their run of poor form goes on.

That rotten run has contributed to Frankfurt slipping to eighth in the table at the end of the last round, leaving them six points worse off than what they were at this stage of last season. That’s heaped pressure on manager Dino Toppmöller who only arrived in the summer, but given the hosts are unbeaten in four H2Hs against Borussia Mönchengladbach (W2, D2), this could be the ideal fixture for them to get back on track.

Mönchengladbach come into the round in 11th and without a win from their most recent two league matches (D1, L1). The 2-2 draw at Werder Bremen last time out was the seventh time they’ve conceded the opening goal, and with a winless record in those matches (D3, L4), slow starts are sure to be an area boss Gerardo Seoane will be keen to address.

But the primary issue holding the Foals back this season has been a leaky defence which has conceded 33 league goals after just 15 rounds – only bottom side Darmstadt have a worse defensive record. However, the good news for them is that while the general H2H record paints the home side in a favourable light, Mönchengladbach are actually undefeated at this venue across their past five visits (W1, D4), restricting Frankfurt to under 1.5 goals in each.

Players to watch: Set to return from suspension, Omar Marmoush has opened the scoring for Frankfurt in three of their past four home matches. Opponent Robin Hack made his first appearance in the Foals’ Bundesliga starting XI in the 2-2 draw against Werder and assisted both of their goals.

Hot stat: No Bundesliga side has conceded more goals in the opening ten minutes than Mönchengladbach coming in the round (five).
