Leeds Norwich prediction 2024-01-24

Leeds vs Norwich prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-01-23 19:45.
Leeds United kept themselves firmly in the race for the Championship automatic promotion places, as a 94th minute penalty handed them a 2-1 victory over Preston on Sunday. Three points were “well deserved” according to boss Daniel Farke, who is yet to taste defeat on home soil since taking over at Elland Road (W11, D4) – a record he’ll be looking to maintain ahead of the visit of his former employers Norwich City.

It’s now three league wins on the spin for Leeds, who could make it four in succession for the first time this season with another here. The Whites have also won each of the last three H2H meetings too, and with those all coming by a single-goal margin, another tight affair could be on the cards here as the hosts look to sustain their promotion bid.

Although trips to Leeds have generally been unproductive for Norwich over the last 30 years, with only two victories from 1995 onwards, David Wagner’s side will travel north in good form and unbeaten in 2024 across all competitions (W3, D2). The Canaries beat West Brom 2-0 at the weekend, the second time they’ve taken three points from a team placed above them in the division since the turn of the year.

That lifted Wagner’s men to within two points of the play-offs, but a difficult week lies ahead as a trip to Liverpool in the FA Cup follows this tricky league clash. But there’s plenty at stake, as with no other Championship fixture taking place in midweek, Norwich will climb into the top-six for the first time since late September if they upset the odds and leave Yorkshire with all three points.

Players to watch: Leeds winger Daniel James is flying at the moment, directly contributing to five goals in his last four games (G3, A2) – he’s scored before half-time in his last three league outings. Kenny McLean is also in form, assisting Norwich’s opener on Saturday after scoring in FA Cup action on Wednesday – he was also on target in this fixture in March 2022.

Hot streak: Norwich have failed to keep a clean sheet across their last 14 away fixtures.
