Stuttgart RB Leipzig prediction 2024-01-27

Stuttgart vs RB Leipzig prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-01-26 14:30.
The race for the top-four is hotting up in the Bundesliga, and two sides who currently reside in those spots meet here, as surprise European chasers Stuttgart host Leipzig. A flying start to the campaign billed Stuttgart as potential title challengers, but they’ve suffered a fall from grace of late, with just one win from their last five league games (D1, L3) seeing them fall 14 points behind top of the table Bayer Leverkusen.

The last two defeats have coincided with the absence of star striker Serhou Guirassy, who is on AFCON duty, and with Guinea advancing to the last-16, Stuttgart will have to wait a little longer to get their 17-league goal man back. Those goals account for 45% of Die Roten’s seasonal league total, and given Stuttgart failed to win the only two home league games this term in which he hasn't scored this season (W7, D1, L1), the omens are against them here.

His absence will be music to the ears of Leipzig, who are themselves stuck in a rut after no win from their last three league games (D1, L2), in what is now their longest winless streak this Bundesliga season. That run culminated in a 3-2 defeat to Leverkusen last weekend, as they squandered a 2-1 lead to miss the chance to become the first team this season to beat the league leaders in any competition.

Leipzig coach Marco Rose won’t be worrying too much though, as he’ll fancy a response here against a side he has enjoyed plenty of success against throughout his managerial career (W5, D1, L1). He’s never tasted defeat away to Stuttgart (W2, D1), with his team on the day scoring exactly twice in each game, and that’s exactly the sort of omen Leipzig need on their side as they bid to improve on a run of just two wins from their last seven away outings in all competitions (D1, L4).

Players to watch: In both home league outings Guirassy hasn’t scored in this term, Chris Führich has netted for Stuttgart. Leipzig’s Loïs Openda was on target against Leverkusen, and he may fancy an early say on proceedings here given his last two away league goalscoring appearances saw him net the opener.

Hot stat: Stuttgart have been awarded a league-high six penalties, while Leipzig have had the Bundelsiga’s joint-second highest number (five).
