QPR Huddersfield prediction 2024-01-28

QPR vs Huddersfield prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-01-27 13:30.
Martí Cifuentes’ QPR picked up a first win in eight Championship games (D2, L5) last time out against Millwall (2-0), though things aren’t all positive as no team in the division picked up fewer points over that same period. That Millwall game was just the sixth time in the league this season they’ve scored 2+ goals in a game, but even still, the Hoops remain the second-lowest scorers in the division and find themselves rooted in the relegation zone.

In desperate need of another victory this weekend, the R’s – who are three points adrift of safety – must quash a dismal record of just one win in their last 17 Sunday-held home league games (D4, L12). They’ve lost their last six such games dating back to August 2016, including one just a fortnight ago against Watford!

This Sunday’s visitors, Huddersfield, are the team directly above QPR in the table despite winning a game less (5), and that’s largely thanks to being the draw kings of the division. Since manager Darren Moore’s first game in charge in September, the Terriers have drawn more Championship games than any other side in the league (ten), with their last six stalemates interestingly ending 1-1.

Moore though is yet to draw a game in the dugout against QPR (W3, L1), actually earning the joint-biggest win of his managerial career to date against them in 2018 whilst in charge of West Brom. Any victory likely won’t be as spectacular, but his Huddersfield side may well fancy their chances of taking all three points in the capital on Sunday, not just because of QPR’s woeful record on this day, but considering that they’ve also won seven of the last 12 H2Hs with the Hoops (D4, L1).

Players to watch: QPR’s Sinclair Armstrong has scored two goals in his last three appearances in all competitions, more than he managed in his first 46 appearances for the club (one). Given that the Hoops have the worst home defensive record from set pieces in the Championship, Huddersfield defender – and top scorer – MichaĹ‚ Helik will fancy his chances of getting on the scoresheet.

Hot stat: QPR have scored exactly once in five of the last six home H2Hs.
