Bayern Munich B. Monchengladbach prediction 2024-02-03

Bayern Munich vs B. Monchengladbach prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-02-02 14:30.
One of the most iconic clashes in Germany takes place this weekend as two sides who shared nine consecutive Meisterschales during the 70s, Bayern Munich and Borussia Mönchengladbach, go head-to-head for the 112th time in the Bundesliga. Bayern lead the all-time league H2H stakes in (W52, D21, L38), but they won’t be overlooking their opponents for this clash given their 2-1 win in September’s reverse was their only success from the last six competitive meetings (D2, L3).

The Bavarian giants will hope they can improve that record and keep the pressure on league leaders Bayer Leverkusen as they closed the gap to two points last weekend. And with a showdown against the leaders to follow this, they’ll want to ensure that can be a game in which they could potentially reclaim the ever-familiar top spot. The first goal here could prove decisive in helping do that with each of Bayern’s last four league matches at Allianz Arena being settled ‘to nil’ (W3, L1).

Bayern actually have Gladbach to thank for holding Leverkusen to a goalless draw last weekend, and they’ll once again fancy their chances of upsetting the odds by playing party pooper here. Yet, the Foals do begin this round ten points from the European spots and nine above the drop zone, mired in mid-table after a run of just one victory across their last six Bundesliga games (W1, D2, L3).

Gladbach’s travelling form makes for more grim reading, as they’ve won just one away league game all season (D4, L4) and head here on the back of a six-match winless road run, five of which saw them concede at least twice. Such form perhaps goes a long way to explaining their double-figure outsider odds ahead of this clash, yet they have lost just two of their four clashes against top-three sides at any venue this term.

Key battle: Bayern’s Leroy SanĂ© has played more games against Gladbach than any other opponent (W5, D2, L5), scoring three times and assisting as many goals across those meetings. Trying to stop him will be Gladbach defender Stefan Lainer, the man who famously scored the decisive goal in his side’s famous 2-1 victory at the Allianz Arena in 2022.

Hot streak: Each of Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel’s last four personal H2Hs with Gladbach saw his team on the day win with both teams scoring.
