Toulouse Nantes prediction 2024-02-11

Toulouse vs Nantes prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-02-10 14:00.
In a repeat of the 2022/23 Coupe de France final, Toulouse take on Nantes hoping for a similar result to the 5-1 victory they recorded to lift their first-ever major trophy last season. Both sides look a far cry from cup finalists now, particularly Toulouse, who have two wins from their last three league games (L1) to thank for the fact they come into this round in 12th and not in the bottom three.

Strangely, both of those wins came on the road, and it’s at home where Toulouse have really struggled for quite some time now, winning just one of their last 16 Ligue 1 home games (D7, L8). There’s incentive for them to improve upon that torrid run here, as after winning the reverse H2H 2-1 on opening weekend, Le Téfécé could complete a top-flight H2H double for only the second time in 33 seasons!

Winless in six in Ligue 1 (D1, L5), Nantes come into this round a point worse off than their hosts and just three above the drop zone. Things appear unlikely to improve on the road for the Canaries, whose seven away points collected this season is amongst the league’s worst tallies, with only fellow strugglers Lorient (six) collecting fewer.

If they’re to add to that total, they may have to do all their work early, as they’re the only Ligue 1 team yet to score an away league goal after the hour mark this term. Concerningly, they’ve also conceded a joint-league high nine goals on their league travels after the 60th minute, and with three failures to score across their last five Ligue 1 road trips, it’s hard to make a compelling case for Nantes securing their first league win of 2024.

Players to watch: Toulouse’s talisman, Thijs Dallinga’s last five goals have been his side’s first or last of the day. Nantes welcomed Mostafa Mohamed back from the Africa Cup of Nations last week, and they’ll be hoping he can recreate his game opening goal from the reverse H2H.

Hot stat: Nantes are one of three Ligue 1 sides yet to lead an away league game at half-time this season (HT: D6, L3).
