Bologna Lecce prediction 2024-02-11

Bologna vs Lecce prediction: ITALY: Serie A betting tips on match 2024-02-10 14:00.
Bologna fought back from a goal down twice to defeat Sassuolo 4-2 last time out, a success which saw them climb to 36 points – their highest tally after 22 matches in a top-flight season since 1994/95. That victory was also crucial in the home side regaining some momentum in their pursuit of European football, halting a five-game winless run in all competitions (D2, L3) which could prove key with tough games against fellow top-five challengers Lazio and Fiorentina on the horizon.

Another win here against Lecce would keep up the momentum for Thiago Motta’s side and four wins across the last five top-flight H2Hs points to them doing just that, although the lone exception was earlier in this season (D 1-1). Returning to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara should play to their advantage, as the Rossoblù have won eight of their last ten home league matches (D2).

Lecce could push the hosts hard after two goals in second-half stoppage time led them to a thrilling 3-2 win over Fiorentina last matchday. That result not only ended a dire six-game winless run (D1, L5) but also gave them a six-point buffer to the relegation zone ahead of this round. The challenge now for Roberto D'Aversa’s side is to post consecutive wins, something they have yet to do in this league campaign.

The visitors are also yet to win on the road (D5, L6) this season in Serie A, so they’re unlikely to travel here with much confidence. Especially as they’ve suffered four straight away defeats, including two against the current top-four contenders, which is ominous ahead of this clash.

Players to watch: Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini has scored two goals across his last three games and has three contributions in four top-flight H2Hs (G2, A1). He could be playing catch up though, as Nikola Krstović has scored the match-opener in three of his last four league goalscoring appearances.

Hot stat: Lecce have kept a first-half clean sheet in eight of their last ten league matches, including the reverse fixture.
