FC Volendam PSV prediction 2024-02-11

FC Volendam vs PSV prediction: NETHERLANDS: Eredivisie betting tips on match 2024-02-10 15:45.
FC Volendam are in a rut amongst the bottom three clubs of the Eredivisie both for on-field performances and off-field financials. The policy that had led to unprecedented sporting and commercial success in recent years, including with the help of ‘Team Jonk’, does not yet guarantee a stable future for the North Holland club who are now deep in the relegation zone. Last season’s 14th place was the best performance of this century, but they’re nine points away from there at the start of this round.

After a change of manager, as well as other alterations to the technical administration and club management, everything should eventually end up in calmer waters again. But lawsuits, damages claims and mudslinging off the field continue to hog the headlines. In the meantime, head coach Regillio Simons and his team have taken one point from their four games since the winter break. With that 12th point from a total of 20 matches, FC Volendam are level with Vitesse at the bottom of the standings.

Their next opponents, PSV Eindhoven, are a mammoth 44 points ahead. After a number of transfers with forced record sales, the club is in a very healthy position financially and this is being reflected in their on-field performance. Although they were dumped out of the KNVB, their Eredivisie campaign under Peter Bosz has been virtually flawless with 56 out of a possible 60 points.

The resumption of their European adventure is fast approaching, with the first leg against Borussia Dortmund in the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League scheduled for Tuesday 20th. But before that happens, six points are up for grabs here and at home to Heracles, two clubs who are both struggling for survival. The city of Eindhoven cannot settle for anything less than six.

Players to watch: Volendam defender Josh Flint (G1, A1) kept their hopes alive with his first goal of the season, an equaliser (2-2) in the away match against FC Utrecht, but the game was ultimately lost 4-2. At PSV, Luuk de Jong (G18, A7) was on the scoresheet in the match against Ajax in a weekend when numbers one (Pavlidis, G20) and two (Giménez, G19) on the top scorers list did not make a dent.

Hot streak: PSV won each of the last 13 Eredivisie H2Hs with an aggregate score of 68-8 and an average winning margin of 4.6 goals. They failed to retain a clean sheet in each of the last four.
