Crystal Palace Burnley prediction 2024-02-24

Crystal Palace vs Burnley prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-02-23 15:00.
[p]It’s out with the old and in with the new at Crystal Palace, who have appointed former Eintracht Frankfurt manager Oliver Glasner after former boss Roy Hodgson stepped down. Glasner couldn’t have wished for a much better first assignment, as Palace play host to struggling Burnley, a side they beat 2-0 in November’s reverse to move into the top half of the league. [/p]

[p]Things have gone downhill since, with just five points separating Palace from the bottom three, and their situation could yet become more critical if they can’t snap a three-match winless home H2H run (D1, L2). They’ll fancy they’re well-placed to do so too after a decent 1-1 draw at Everton on Monday night, and especially as Glasner has won his first game in charge of three of his last four clubs (L1).[/p]

[p]In a season of disappointment after disappointment, Burnley hit a new low last weekend when slumping to their heaviest league defeat of the season in a 5-0 home thrashing against Arsenal. Despite being burrowed firmly in the bottom three, boss Vincent Kompany said his side still want to fight to stay in the top-flight, and while they haven’t yet given up hope of surviving, no team in Premier League history has ever had fewer than 17 points after 25 games and stayed up.[/p]

[p]That leaves Burnley with a serious mountain to climb as they currently sit on 13 points, but having collected more points on the road (eight) than at home (five), perhaps there’s a glimmer of hope they can add to that tally here. Doing so will likely require them to keep the back door shut, something they’ve struggled with of late, conceding exactly three times in each of their last three away league games. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: High-flying Palace full-back Tyrick Mitchell has one goal to his name since the 2020/21 season which came in the reverse fixture. Both his Premier League goals arrived after the 80th minute. He beat James Trafford that day, although the Burnley keeper is one of just two Premier League stoppers with at least 100 saves to their name this season.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Only three of the last 15 Palace-held H2Hs saw both teams score. [/p]
