B. Monchengladbach Bochum prediction 2024-02-24

B. Monchengladbach vs Bochum prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-02-23 14:30.
Starting the round with a six-point cushion to the bottom three, you’d be forgiven for thinking Borussia Mönchengladbach were sitting comfortably in their battle to beat the drop. However, sitting 15th and directly above the relegation play-off spot, their cushion is perhaps at risk of lulling them into a false sense of security ahead of the visit of Bochum, a side they beat 3-1 in the reverse.

Since that H2H win in September, Gladbach’s form has been indifferent, a statement perhaps highlighted best by the fact none of their league results since have mirrored the one prior (W4, D5, L7). That’s a pattern they’ll want to see continue for another week after they lost 2-0 to Leipzig last weekend, and with just one defeat from their last eight home league games (W4, D3) coupled with three successive home H2H wins, they appear well placed to end their five-match winless league run (D2, L3).

Sitting just three points better off than Gladbach, but in the relative safety of mid-table, Bochum travel on the back of the most eye-catching result of the last round when they beat reigning champions Bayern Munich 3-2. That was Bochum’s latest resilient showing, and they have indeed proved a tough nut to crack of late, losing just one of their last six league games (W2, D3).

Such a run certainly shows they have a degree of solidity at the back, but they’re also a little blunt up front, as five of their last six games saw them net exactly once. It’s an issue that’s been particularly evident on the road where they’ve failed to score in five of their 11 league games this term, although they should be buoyed by the fact they haven’t drawn a scoring blank yet this season against a side starting the round beneath them.

Players to watch: Gladbach’s Jordan Siebatcheu has opened or closed the scoring on his three home scoring appearances this season. Kevin Stöger was Bochum’s game winner against Bayern, with his last four goals all coming from the penalty spot.

Hot stat: Bochum are one of just two Bundesliga sides yet to lead an away league game at half-time this season (HT: D6, L5).
