West Ham Brentford prediction 2024-02-26

West Ham vs Brentford prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-02-25 20:00.
[p]A London derby between two out-of-form teams will take place when West Ham United welcome Brentford to the London Stadium, with both sides desperate to get the points rolling again. The hosts have experienced the worst of it recently as they’re currently without a win in their six Premier League fixtures so far in 2024 (D3, L3), their worst start to a calendar year since 2007 where they suffered through eight top-flight games without victory.[/p]

[p]Those three defeats this year have all come in their last three matches, compounded by the fact they failed to score in each. One has to go back to October 2006 to find the last time the Hammers lost four consecutive Premier League games without scoring, a statistic that could be under threat here on the basis that West Ham have lost all five of their previous Premier League encounters with Brentford![/p]

[p]But the visitors have endured a tough time themselves recently by losing four of their last five games (W1), although perhaps solace can be taken in the fact those defeats were against top-four hopefuls Tottenham, league leaders Liverpool, and twice against title contenders Manchester City. As a result they’ve slid down the table in worrying fashion, with the gap between them and the relegation zone shrinking to just five points. [/p]

[p]The Bees will now leave the hive looking to rebuild that buffer, presumably with an ‘all or nothing’ mindset since only one of their last 17 Premier League away games has ended as a draw (W5, L11). As far as recent London derbies go, it’s been more on the nothing side, with three consecutive losses against fellow London sides further underlining their struggles.[/p]

[p]Players to watch: West Ham’s last two goals both came via James Ward-Prowse penalties. Ward-Prowse continues to display his deadliness in dead-ball situations, with ten of his last 16 goals coming from the penalty spot or a direct free-kick. His efforts may be futile if opposing #7 Neal Maupay has his way, as Maupay has scored four goals in his six undefeated appearances against West Ham (W3, D3).[/p]

[p]Hot stat: All but three of Brentford’s last 14 competitive games saw both teams score.[/p]
