Heidenheim Eintracht Frankfurt prediction 2024-03-02

Heidenheim vs Eintracht Frankfurt prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-03-01 14:30.
It’s been an incredible season so far for promoted Heidenheim, who still have a shot of qualifying for Europe for the first time in their history, although closing the six-point gap to sixth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt might be critical in that regard. Their recent form has held them back, with a 2-2 draw away to Union Berlin last weekend the latest of many instances of dropping points to lower ranked opponents, a result which made it just one win from their last seven Bundesliga matches (D5, L1).

Head coach Frank Schmidt has spoken more about survival than the top six, and whilst he saw a lot to be happy with in a 2-1 loss to league leaders Bayer Leverkusen in their last home outing, he was left to lament a third consecutive home game in this competition without a win (D2, L1). Perhaps most concerningly, Heidenheim accumulated just two goals across those three games following 17 from their first eight home outings of the Bundesliga season (W5, D1, L2).

But Frankfurt are also on the slide, and therefore their place is up for grabs for the handful of clubs only a couple of wins behind such as Heidenheim. They looked set to make a tilt for the top four after winning in Leipzig in early January, but squandered several opportunities thereafter, perhaps largely due to the fact their last six games, all against clubs starting this round below Heidenheim in the standings, netted just seven points (W1, D4, L1).

That includes three failures to win on the road (D 2-2 Darmstadt, L 2-0 Cologne, D 3-3 Freiburg), pointing to a struggle to retain their defensive shape away from home. A 2-0 win in the previous meeting with Heidenheim accounted for one of their six Bundesliga clean sheets this season, but four of them came at home, so they could find it difficult to replicate.

Players to watch: Tim Kleindienst has been especially productive within the walls of the Voith-Arena, where five of his seven Bundesliga goals this season were recorded. Frankfurt’s Ansgar Knauff enjoys facing Bundesliga newcomers, putting his side 2-0 up after half-time in their last two meetings with the two newly-promoted sides.

Hot streak: The last eight competitive matches involving either side saw both teams score on the day.
