Norwich Rotherham prediction 2024-03-09

Norwich vs Rotherham prediction: ENGLAND: Championship betting tips on match 2024-03-08 15:00.
[p]A controversial red card to Borja Sainz saw Norwich unravel from being a goal up to lose 3-1 to Middlesbrough on Wednesday – a result which halted their six-game unbeaten run (W4, D2). Manager David Wagner called the first half hour “one of our best away performances this season,” but the final result keeps his side two points outside the play-off spots ahead of the round.[/p]

[p]Returning to Carrow Road could just be the tonic that they need to revive their top-six push, as they remain unbeaten here across their last 11 games (W8, D3). That includes a current five-match winning streak in the Championship, giving the Canaries a chance to make it six in a row at this venue for the first time since January 2010 in any league competition.[/p]

[p]On top of that, a win would avenge the hosts’  2-1 loss to Rotherham United in the reverse fixture, a result that puts the visitors in line to potentially win consecutive H2Hs for the first time since October 1966. That prospect looks far-fetched to say the least considering the Millers’ recent form, as a 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Coventry City on Tuesday kept them bottom of the standings and 19 points adrift of safety. Not only that, but that was also an eighth loss in a row for only the third time in their Football League history![/p]

[p]The manner of defeat to Coventry, where they conceded four first-half goals, certainly didn’t impress boss Leam Richardson, who called it “probably the worst 45 minutes that I’ve been involved in.” A return to the road is unlikely to inspire too much confidence either for Rotherham, as they remain winless away from home across competitions this season and have conceded 14 goals across their last four trips![/p]

[p]Players to watch: Josh Sargent has scored in each of Norwich’s last six home league games, netting their match opener in five of those matches. Contrastingly, Tom Eaves has been an away specialist for Rotherham, scoring his four league goals this season on the road, the last two of which came within the first ten minutes.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Ahead of the round, Rotherham have conceded a league-high 11 goals within the first ten minutes this season.[/p]
