RB Leipzig Darmstadt prediction 2024-03-09

RB Leipzig vs Darmstadt prediction: GERMANY: Bundesliga betting tips on match 2024-03-08 14:30.
[p]Despite a strong performance in midweek UEFA Champions League action, RB Leipzig were dumped out of the competition at the last-16 stage by Real Madrid. Although Marco Rose’s men claimed an encouraging 1-1 draw in the Spanish capital during a game in which they outshot their famous opposition 20-13, they lost the tie 2-1 on aggregate, and will now refocus on claiming a top-four spot in the Bundesliga this campaign in order to qualify for Europe’s elite competition once again for next season.[/p]

[p]They begin this latest round of fixtures only one point shy of that target in fifth spot, thanks to just one loss in their last five league outings (W3, D1). Their last such match saw the hosts claim an easy 4-1 win over Bochum, and with the Saxony outfit having not lost any of their last 30 league games against newly-promoted opposition (W27, D3) – the Bundesliga’s second longest-ever such run – more success looks almost certain to follow here against Darmstadt.[/p]

[p]Getting any sort of positive result could therefore prove a tall order for Darmstadt, who were thumped 6-0 by Augsburg last weekend to remain rock bottom of the standings and 12 points adrift of definite safety. That loss brought with it dramatic scenes after the final whistle as one of the club’s ultras remonstrated with the team on the pitch, something that is unlikely to improve confidence in the away dressing room. [/p]

[p]That latest defeat subsequently made it 17 league matches without victory for the visitors (D6, L11), the Lilies’ longest-ever winless streak in Germany’s top-flight as relegation looms. That said, a small positive could be taken from the fact that Darmstadt are one of just two sides in the division to take more points on the road than at home this season!    [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Benjamin Ĺ eško is enjoying his first campaign at Leipzig and has scored 11 goals across all competitions, four of which have come on or beyond the 85th minute. Tim Skarke seems to be Darmstadt’s most likely source of inspiration here as their top Bundesliga scorer with six goals – the last four of which have come away from home.  [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Darmstadt have fallen behind 18 times in the Bundesliga this season without winning – the highest such figure in the league. [/p]
