Newcastle Everton prediction 2024-04-02

Newcastle vs Everton prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-04-01 18:30.
[p]Newcastle will head back to St James’ Park on a massive high after they came out on top in a blockbuster Premier League encounter with West Ham on Saturday. Eddie Howe’s men took the lead but then found themselves 3-1 down going into the final 15 minutes, but they rallied late on to secure a standout 4-3 win – it was the first time they’d come from two goals down to win a Premier League match since March 2019 against none other than opponents here, Everton (3-2)! [/p]

[p]The result kept the Toon’s hopes of European football alive and they come into the gameweek just one point behind West Ham in seventh – crucially with a game in hand. Yet despite the many positives from Saturday’s win, Howe will be frustrated at another poor defensive display from his side. They have conceded 51 goals already this season, and allowed 3+ goals in ten different Premier League games, with only the bottom three doing so more often. [/p]

[p]One of those occasions came back in December against Everton and made up a run of four straight wins for the Toffees at the time, yet remarkably, Sean Dyche’s side haven’t won a league game since that game late last year (D5, L7). That run of 12 winless matches is the Merseysiders’ joint-longest ever in the competition without a win, casting doubt over their ability to steer clear of the drop this season as they come into this round just three points above the drop zone, with a further points deduction hanging over them. [/p]

[p]The most recent fixture in that run was a 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth where Everton were very much the architects of their own downfall, scoring an own goal in second-half stoppage time after drawing level late on. Everton have now conceded 2+ goals in five of their last seven matches. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Newcastle’s Harvey Barnes was the star of the show on Saturday as he came off the bench to score twice, doubling his league tally for the campaign. Dwight McNeil opened the scoring for Everton in the dominant H2H win at Goodison, but he’s gone 18 straight competitive games without a goal since. [/p]

[p]Hot streak: Newcastle could win four successive home games against Everton for the first time since the turn of the century. [/p]
