Lille Marseille prediction 2024-04-05

Lille vs Marseille prediction: FRANCE: Ligue 1 betting tips on match 2024-04-04 19:00.
[p]A very profitable March has set Lille up for an exciting run-in this season, as not only did a 4-1 aggregate win over Sturm Graz see them advance to the UEFA Europa Conference League quarter-finals, but they also propelled themselves into the top-four of Ligue 1 after remaining unbeaten in their four league games (W2, D2). Their last outing was a 2-1 home win over Lens, which halted a run of three consecutive score draws.[/p]

[p]That result continued the Mastiffs’ excellent form in front of their Stade Pierre-Mauroy faithful, as they now boast the league’s best home record (W9, D3, L1). That’s a great feather in manager Paulo Fonseca’s cap, along with the fact that losing just three of his 40 home games with Lille across all competitions means he has the lowest losing percentage at home of any Lille manager (excluding caretakers).[/p]

[p]The team they wrestled this Ligue 1 campaign’s best home record from this past weekend happen to be their next visitors, with Marseille’s 2-0 loss to PSG bringing an end to what was a 19-game unbeaten run at home in all competitions this season (W13, D6). That made it back-to-back 2-0 league losses for the Phocaeans, who have subsequently dropped out of the European spots to seventh place.[/p]

[p]Making their way back into the top-six here seems no easy feat, with no team picking up fewer points on the road this season than Marseille (ten – tied with relegation-threatened Le Havre and Clermont). A record of just one win in their last seven encounters with Lille (D3, L3) also won’t help their confidence, nor will  Jean-Louis Gasset’s five losses in his six meetings with them as a manager (W1)! [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Edon Zhegrova will be oozing confidence after his brace against Lens, which saw 11 of his last 13 goals for Lille come at home. His counterpart could prove to be Marseille’s Iliman Ndiaye, considering he’s netted three of his last four goals on the road. [/p]

[p]Hot stat: Lille have scored first in 13 of their last 16 games.[/p]
