Fulham Newcastle prediction 2024-04-06

Fulham vs Newcastle prediction: ENGLAND: Premier League betting tips on match 2024-04-05 14:00.
[p]Fulham boss Marco Silva took the rather bold step of making a triple substitution after just 33 minutes of their midweek trip to Nottingham Forest with his side already 2-0 down – the second earliest a manager has ever done that in a Premier League match. Although their performance improved as a result, the Cottagers were still on the end of a two-goal defeat that may have fans concerned as it followed another alarming display against Sheffield United previously. With neither relegation or a push for a European place on the cards, Fulham’s recent performances might be reflective of a season with little left to play for.  [/p]

[p]Their last two games came on the road, and Silva will certainly be grateful to be back at Craven Cottage where his side have lost just one of their last six Premier League matches (W4, D1). Extending that record against Newcastle looks tough on paper however, as Fulham are winless in the last eight H2Hs (D2, L6), losing each of the last five while failing to score in the last three to boot.[/p]

[p]The Newcastle side making the long journey south is depleted through injury though, with a barebones defence in particular that conceded late in a 1-1 draw with Everton on Tuesday. Eddie Howe’s squad has been stretched to its maximum by an almost season-long injury crisis, but if the Magpies are to secure a top-seven finish this term and a return to European football, there’ll be no room for excuses between now and May.[/p]

[p]It’s on the road where the Toon have suffered most, winning just two of their last 11 away league matches (D2, L7) – a sequence that’s seen them concede a whopping 28 goals in the process! Fulham are favoured opponents at least, with Newcastle already beating them twice this season across two different competitions, while they’ve won each of their last four trips to Craven Cottage. [/p]

[p]Players to watch: Fulham’s Andreas Pereira has assisted in back-to-back matches since the international break, but he’s not found the net in the Premier League since late August. Alexander Isak has no such worries having scored in four consecutive league matches – eight of his last 12 Newcastle goals came before half-time.[/p]

[p]Hot stat: Fulham boss Silva is winless in his last six games against Newcastle (D1, L5), while opposite number Howe has lost just once in eight meetings with the Cottagers (W7).[/p]
